Focus Investment Group et COSEC signent un protocole pour un terminal à conteneurs à Touba
Focus Investment Group (FIG) and the Senegalese Shippers' Council (COSEC) signed a strategic memorandum of understanding in Dakar on Thursday for the development of the Touba container terminal, a key component of the "Touba Terminal" project, an industrial and logistics hub in the heart of Senegal.

This agreement governs the administrative procedures to create an infrastructure for processing 100,000 containers per year, aimed at relieving congestion at existing ports, streamlining trade to the center and north of the country, reducing logistics delays and costs, and boosting the competitiveness of internal corridors. "This signature materializes a strategic collaboration between our public administration and our private sector in the service of more fluid, more modern and better distributed national logistics across the territory," declared Mr. Khadim Kébé, President of FIG. "We expressly welcome the diligence and efficiency of the entire COSEC team under the leadership of its Director General, who embodies a new dynamic of public governance based on performance in the service of the nation."
Ms. Ndèye Rokhaya Thiam Sow, Director General of COSEC, added: "This agreement is perfectly in line with the sovereign missions entrusted to us by the country's authorities. Our mission is to promote and contribute significantly to improving the conditions for receiving, shipping, and reshipping goods belonging to shippers. And as such, we naturally support private initiatives like Touba Terminal, which contribute to strengthening our logistics infrastructure and the competitiveness of our corridors to the hinterland."

The 40-hectare terminal includes warehouses, bonded bulk silos, and a heavy-duty terminal for 200 trucks per day. It will create 255 direct jobs and promote youth employability through logistics training schools. This project is aligned with Vision Senegal 2050, strengthening the economic and social transformation of inland regions.
