Grand Magal de Touba 2025 : 395 interventions des sapeurs-pompiers, 21 décès recensés
As of Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 6 p.m., rescuers have recorded 395 interventions involving 640 victims, including 21 deaths.
According to Commander Yatma Dièye, Head of the Information and Public Relations Division of the BNSP, the majority of these operations are related to traffic accidents. Indeed, 240 interventions were devoted to this type of incident, with 575 victims and causing 18 losses of human life.
Motorcycles are among the most common vehicles involved. Firefighters report 135 accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles, resulting in 165 casualties and 11 deaths.
The National Fire Brigade continues its efforts to ensure the safety and rapid care of victims throughout the Magal, an event that attracts several million pilgrims to the religious city each year.
