Grand-Yoff : La BNLPC démantèle un réseau de vente illicite de médicaments contrefaits, trois vendeurs déférés
The National Brigade for the Fight Against Piracy and Counterfeiting (BNLPC) of the national police force carried out a major operation Wednesday at the Grand-Yoff market. Three vendors of counterfeit medicines were arrested and brought before the Dakar High Court the following day.
It all started with a tip-off about the resumption of counterfeit drug sales at the Grand-Yoff market. The National Anti-Corruption Brigade (BNLPC) immediately launched a targeted operation. On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, agents intervened and dismantled three stalls illegally selling medication. The owners were caught red-handed in front of their displays.
The sellers I. Diaw, 33 years old, residing in Dalifort; A. Cissé, 27 years old, residing in Cité Fadia; and O. Guèye, 34 years old, residing in PA Unit 9 are placed in police custody for illegally practicing the profession of pharmacy, possession and sale of counterfeit medicines and endangering the lives of others.
At the end of the investigation, the three defendants were brought before a judge on February 26, 2026.
