Guédiawaye : ce que dit l’autopsie de l’émigré mort juste après son procès, sur la route de la prison de Rebeuss

Sentenced to a six-month suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay 4.5 million CFA francs to the civil party last Friday, emigrant Alioune Badara Mbengue died shortly after his trial at the Pikine-Guédiawaye court. He succumbed to a seizure while being taken back to Rebeuss prison where he was being held in pre-trial detention for a land fraud case.

The disappearance of the 56-year-old immigrant, who had lived in Italy for over 25 years, caused a stir in his neighborhood of Fith-Mith (Guédiawaye). Moreover, the unclear circumstances of his death gave rise to all sorts of speculation. But the autopsy conducted at the Idrissa Pouye Hospital in Grand-Yoff sheds more light on the matter.

"According to the certificate signed by Professor Cheikh Mouhamed M. Dia, head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Cytology, and by Dr. Mamadou Ndiaye, forensic pathologist, the death of Alioune Badara Mbengue is linked to decompensated hypertrophic and ischemic cardiomyopathy, aggravated by a myocardial infarction complicated by congestive heart failure. In other words, the emigrant died of severe heart failure, occurring in a context of chronic conditions," continues L'Observateur, which returned to this story in its Monday edition.

The newspaper reports that the victim was buried last Sunday in the Pikine cemetery.
