Guédiawaye : comment le gang « Thiely » a été neutralisé
Guédiawaye police have dismantled a formidable motorcycle gang nicknamed "Thiely" (the eagle in Wolof), which specialized in nighttime robberies. The group operated on powerful Beverly motorcycles, often without license plates, simulating fake collisions to trap motorists. The accomplices then stole bags, phones, and cash.
One of their biggest heists dates back to August 25, when they stole 30 million CFA francs in cash and a check from a shopkeeper at the Sahm intersection in Guédiawaye, L'Observateur reports, citing a source close to the investigation.
The investigations led to the arrest of four suspects: Mr. Bâ, A. Dione, Mr. Bâ alias "Ino" and Mr. Ndiaye. In total, ten victims were identified, and the total damage is estimated at more than 62 million.
The police seized luxury phones, checks, a Taurus firearm and the motorcycle used in the robberies.
The suspects were formally identified by several victims and referred to the public prosecutor's office for criminal conspiracy and theft committed by a group at night with the use of a means of transport. The investigation is continuing to find possible accomplices who are still at large, reports the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group.

Faisons du Sénégal un pays impitoyable et fatal à ceux qui transgressent ses lois. C’est parce que ka prison est encore supportable et gerable que les crimes continuent.
