Guédiawaye : Des acteurs culturels en sit-in mardi pour dénoncer l'inaction de la mairie
The National Union of Cultural Workers (SNTC), affiliated with the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions (CSA), and committed cultural actors in Guédiawaye will be in a sit-in to express their distress in the face of "the inaction of the town hall."
In front of Guédiawaye Town Hall, this Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., they will alert public opinion and denounce "the failure of Guédiawaye town hall to meet its obligations in terms of cultural policy."
According to the coordinator of the collective of cultural actors, Papa Meissa Guèye, "despite legal provisions and immense artistic potential, culture is ignored, subsidies are non-existent and infrastructure is abandoned."
Determined to assert their rights, these actors intend to present their "diagnosis of the situation in order to arrive at a cultural policy worthy of the name."
