Guy Marius Sagna : Justice pour les impactés du TER

The populations impacted by the Regional Express Train (TER) have continued to pay a heavy price for nearly a decade. In a post, Guy Marius Sagna addressed the situation of those affected by the project, denouncing a social injustice that has persisted since 2016.

According to him, those affected by the TER are still chasing after their land, their houses, their compensation, and their administrative documents. "Ten years is too long," he insists, reminding everyone that the true cost of the TER is not limited to the more than 1,200 billion CFA francs invested, but also includes "the sweat and blood" of those who were displaced to allow the project to be carried out.

Guy Marius Sagna denounces a state he describes as neocolonial and parasitic, accusing it of having deceived the affected populations and abandoned them to predictable social tragedies. He criticizes economic, social, and environmental impact studies that he deems neither democratic, nor transparent, nor popular.

Among the examples cited is Sébikotane, where the lack of a footbridge exposes the population to serious mobility and safety problems. This situation, he believes, requires listening, dialogue, and urgent attention to local concerns.

The MP is calling on the government that came to power following the democratic revolution, arguing that it has a moral and political obligation to deliver justice to those affected by the TER (Regional Express Train) project. "It's not an option," he insists. He also expressed his solidarity with the affected communities, with whom he gathered on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Sébikotane, while urging daily TER users to show their appreciation, consideration, and solidarity with these families who have been sacrificed.

Guy Marius Sagna concluded by reaffirming his commitment to stand by those affected until they receive full payment of what the State owes them, and finally made a solemn appeal: "Never again in Senegal."
