Hôpital de Sédhiou : comment la voleuse de bébé a été arrêtée de justesse
Restaurateur A. Coulibaly, 32, was taken into custody at the Sédhiou police station. She is accused of attempting to steal the baby of F. Mané (24), who had just given birth at the regional hospital.
The incident took place last Friday. The suspect was arrested in the nick of time after she rescued the baby from his mother, who was hospitalized in the pediatric ward of the health facility and whose trust she had managed to gain.
"At the hospital gate, the security guards noticed that she was holding papers that weren't in her name and that the hospital fees hadn't been paid," rewinds Libération, which reported the information. At the same time, the newspaper continues, the baby's mother appeared "shouting 'sama doom, sama doom...'."
A. Coulibaly was arrested and handed over to the head of the Pediatrics department. The latter notified the hospital director, who alerted the police.
"The public prosecutor at the Sédhiou High Court has been informed that the accused has been placed in serious custody. The investigation is ongoing," adds Libération.
