Incident à Keur Massar : La police et la gendarmerie apaisent la tension et rassurent sur leur collaboration
In a joint statement sent to Seneweb by Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, head of the Communication and Public Relations Division of the National Gendarmerie, the security authorities acknowledge an incident that occurred between their agents and promise to preserve cohesion between the units.
On November 14, 2025, an incident involving officers of the national police and the national gendarmerie occurred in Keur Massar. Images of this scene quickly circulated on social media, sparking numerous reactions within Senegalese public opinion.
Faced with the scale of the controversy, the two security institutions broke their silence, publishing a joint statement to clarify the situation.
In their joint statement, the General Directorate of the National Police and the High Command of the National Gendarmerie deeply regret this incident. Both forces acknowledge that this is an isolated act that in no way reflects the quality of the professional relationship and the exemplary collaboration that binds them on a daily basis.
The authorities wish to emphasize that police officers and gendarmes work together in carrying out their sovereign missions, ensuring the safety of citizens throughout the national territory.
