MP Guy Marius Sagna has responded to the payment of daily allowances granted to five officers from the Multifunctional Intervention Brigade (BIP), who were deployed during the recent Morocco-2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

In a statement, he noted that the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) proceeded, on Monday, April 20, 2026, to disburse the 50,000 CFA francs per day owed to these officers.

While welcoming this payment, the parliamentarian nevertheless lamented a delay of nearly three months following the AFCON final.

The MP recalled having, as early as April 15, 2026, submitted a written inquiry to the government questioning the absence of allowances and recognition for these police officers who accompanied the national football team.

According to him, the issue of state rewards remains unresolved. At this stage, no official communication has specified whether these officers will receive any distinction or institutional support.

This stance reignites the debate on the recognition and support conditions for security forces mobilized during major sporting events.

Other Concerns Raised

Beyond this specific case, Guy Marius Sagna indicated he has submitted several citizen concerns to the government through a series of written inquiries. These notably address issues related to infrastructure, access to basic services, public governance, and working conditions in certain institutions.

The MP announced that these various inquiries will be made public gradually in the coming days.
