Inondations : le Ministère de l’Hydraulique déploie 500 motopompes à Touba, Kaolack et dans plusieurs régions
As part of the strengthening of the national flood control system, the Ministry of Hydraulics and Sanitation, headed by Dr. Cheikh Tidiane Dièye, launched a large convoy of pumping equipment to several areas affected by the heavy rains of recent days, including Touba, Kaolack, and other regions of the country.
This emergency deployment is part of a proactive effort to limit the damage caused by recurring flooding during the winter. The equipment mobilized includes: 500 motor pumps; 500 suction pipes; 500 discharge pipes
This initiative was made possible thanks to the support of companies committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and to the strong citizen mobilization following the call launched by the authorities.
The equipment will be distributed to volunteers, community groups, and other field workers already involved in pumping and draining stagnant water. The goal is to increase the effectiveness of field operations and relieve the hardest-hit neighborhoods.
The ministry thus reaffirms its desire to support populations throughout the winter season, through concrete actions and regular monitoring.
