On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, around 2 p.m., members of the research brigade of the Jaxaay district police station arrested ten individuals for possession of kush for the purpose of trafficking (127 képas), possession and collective use of Indian hemp (two cones, one of which was opened and 10 joints).

These are: SM Gu-ye, born on January 2, 2002 in Jaxaay, metal welder residing in Rufisque; A. Diamé, born in 2006 in Ndoffane, driver residing in Jaxaay; M. Faye, born in 2005 in Yeumbeul, metal welder residing in Jaxaay; A. Faye, born in 2002 in Dakar, carpenter residing in Jaxaay; B. Sarr, born on February 8, 2002 in Thiaroye, carpenter residing in the Gendarmerie district; A. Diallo, born on December 12, 1998 in Dakar, shopkeeper residing in Jaxaay; A. Faye, born in 1999 in Dakar, driver residing in Jaxaay; AK Diallo, born on April 26, 2006 in Rufisque, apprentice driver residing in Rufisque; S. Sène, born on September 23, 2002 in Yeumbeul, welder residing in Jaxaay and BD Mbaye, born on July 15, 2005 in Dakar, carpenter residing in Darou Thioub.

During a patrol in the area, police officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from a building under construction. Upon entering, they surprised the suspects in the act of packaging the drug (kush) in small pieces of paper. Two packets of marijuana, one of which was partially used, were also found at the scene, along with smoked joints and pieces of white paper used for packaging the drugs.

When questioned at the police station where they were taken, the suspects all confessed to the charges against them. The drugs and pieces of paper were seized for the purposes of the investigation. The accused were brought before a judge on Wednesday.
