Jaxaay : l’agent commercial vole 88 millions F CFA, son téléphone révèle qu’il est accro aux…

S. Dione is in serious trouble. This sales agent for Taman, a money transfer service provider, is being prosecuted for fraud and breach of trust totaling 88,119,000 CFA francs. He has admitted to all the charges against him.

Libération, which gave the information, reports that the harm was suffered by Taman and a group of more than a dozen people who, upon learning of his arrest, went to the Jaxaay police station to file a complaint.

Three months ago, as the newspaper Groupe Futurs Médias recounts, the money transfer service provider noticed a drop in revenue from commissions earned by its field agents. During a working capital review, the newspaper reports, Taman discovered a shortfall of 38,119,500 CFA francs in the account of S. Dione, who was responsible for the Keur Massar and Malika areas.

When questioned about the missing funds, the same source continued, the accused acknowledged the shortfall and pledged to repay by signing an acknowledgment of debt.

He failed to honor his commitment, according to L'Observateur, which reveals: "During his detention, more than a dozen people came to the police station to file complaints against him for [unpaid loans]."

The plaintiffs stated that the sales agent, using Taman's payment delays as a pretext, asked them to lend him money while waiting for the situation to be resolved. In total, according to L'Observateur, he managed to swindle them out of 50 million CFA francs.

While in police custody, investigators examined his mobile phone and discovered that S. Dione was a keen sports bettor, according to the daily newspaper. The paper reports that several dedicated sports betting apps were found on the suspect's device and that police noticed he frequently wagered up to one million CFA francs.

Would this explain that? The sales agent should have to explain himself in court.
