Kaffrine : Six personnes arrêtées pour diffusion d’une vidéo intime
In Kaffrine, a case involving the distribution of intimate content has shocked local public opinion. Six individuals have been arrested and brought before the prosecutor for their alleged involvement in the dissemination of a private video, released without the victim's consent.
It all started with a complaint filed on March 29, 2026, by a student living in the Guinaw neighborhood. The young woman reported the circulation, without her knowledge, of an intimate video of herself. Alerted, the urban security unit of the Kaffrine central police station opened an investigation. The investigations made it possible to trace the source of the leak.
According to the information gathered, the video was filmed in a strictly private setting before being shared with a trusted friend. However, following a disagreement between the two girls, the friend allegedly shared the content in retaliation, using a disappearing video feature on a messaging app.
Despite this system designed to limit distribution, several recipients managed to save the video before sharing it again. This rapid spread seriously violated the victim's privacy.
Thanks to the analysis of digital data, investigators were able to identify the entire distribution chain. Six people were formally implicated. When questioned by investigators, they confessed to the charges against them.
Following their detention, the suspects were brought before the public prosecutor at the Kaffrine High Court. They are being prosecuted for disseminating images contrary to public decency, unlawful collection and disclosure of personal data, and invasion of privacy.
