Kaolack : Deux voleurs arrêtés après une course-poursuite spectaculaire
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the Ndorong/Kaolack district police station arrested two individuals for criminal conspiracy and theft by group using a means of transport. This arrest marks a halt to criminal activity in the Gawane sector.
A robbery orchestrated under the eyes of the police
The story begins during a routine security mission. A police patrol observes suspicious behavior: two men on a Jakarta-type motorcycle discreetly follow a motorcyclist who is using his cell phone while driving.
The situation quickly changed at the Gawane gas station. Taking advantage of their victim's slowdown to cross a speed bump, one of the suspects jumped out and snatched the phone from the motorcyclist's hands. His accomplice, who remained at the controls of the motorcycle, immediately accelerated in an attempt to escape.
A chase through the city
Law enforcement officers did not remain inactive in the face of this blatant theft. A chase ensued through the streets of Kaolack, temporarily turning traffic into a hunting ground.
The suspects' escape ended in Medina Baye, at the "Jakarta Baba Lamine Niass" stop, where the two thieves were apprehended by the police and taken into custody at the police station, Seneweb learned from the police communications division.
