Kaolack : Il fonce sur un policier et le percute pour échapper à un contrôle
A young delivery driver was taken into custody on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Kaolack police station for refusing to comply and endangering the lives of others.
The incident occurred around noon during an operation targeting motorcyclists not wearing safety helmets. SMDiop police officer ordered A. Touré, 20, a delivery driver residing in Unit 11 of Parcelles Assainies, to stop while riding without a helmet.
Ignoring the officer's orders, the motorcyclist drove directly towards him, hitting him head-on, according to Seneweb sources.
Despite the shock, the police officer, who escaped unharmed, managed to apprehend the fleeing man before taking him to the police station.
When questioned, AT stated that he had refused to stop for fear of being apprehended. He was taken into custody for failing to comply with a police order and endangering the lives of others.
The public prosecutor has been informed of the facts. An investigation is underway.
