Kaolack : Un gang de malfaiteurs démantelé par le commissariat central
The Research Brigade of the Kaolack Central Police Station dismantled a gang of criminals on the night of December 6-7, 2025, as part of a security operation across the entire municipality.
Alerted by an anonymous source regarding an organized robbery, the members of the Research Brigade immediately deployed to the targeted private apartment, located in the Central Market, adjacent to the ready-to-wear establishment "UNO".
According to the police, the perpetrators used a scheme to lure victims (identified as sex workers and a motorcyclist) in order to steal their belongings (money, phones, etc.).
The swift intervention of the detectives led to the arrest of five suspects. The apprehension unfolded in several stages. Two individuals were apprehended near the former "Bar Napoléon." Two others were located and arrested in the apartment. The final suspect, who attempted to flee in a vehicle, was intercepted at Point Noir.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of an identity document. A body search of the individuals involved resulted in the recovery of three cell phones belonging to the victims, confirming the theft. It was also noted that the motorcyclist was in a state of shock and had scratches on his face.
The victims' statements, including those of the sex workers' driver, confirmed the extent of the harm. The suspects were then taken into custody.
