Kaolack : Une bande de voleurs de motos tombe dans les filets de la police
The bloodhounds of the Urban Security of the central police station of Kaolack, under the command of Divisional Commissioner Souleymane Ba, have put out of action a gang of criminals specializing in the theft of motorcycles - Jakarta, in the Dialègne district. Three individuals were arrested and four motorcycles seized .
On October 16, 2025, Mr. A. Diop contacted the police by telephone to report the presence of three suspicious individuals in the Dialègne neighborhood, involved in motorcycle thefts. Investigators from the Urban Security Research Brigade immediately went to the scene where they arrested the suspects and seized four motorcycles found in their possession. The three suspects were taken to the police station headquarters for the purposes of the investigation.
The people arrested are Mr. Diagne, born in 2006, a sheet metal worker by profession living in Dialègne; F. Sarr, born in 2006, a mason living in Dialègne; and A. Thiam, aged 19, a street vendor also living in Dialègne.
According to the testimonies of the plaintiffs, N. Ngom and O. Ngom, it was on the night of October 15 to 16, 2025, around 3 a.m., that they noticed the disappearance of their two motorcycles, although they had been carefully parked in front of their home in Thioffack. The investigations carried out by the sleuths first led to a melon seller named A. Thiam. It was at his home that the first traces of the stolen motorcycles were found. His arrest made it possible to trace the network and arrest two other accomplices.
Interviewed by investigators, A. Thiam admitted to receiving and hiding a motorcycle entrusted to him by a certain F. Sarr. He stated that the latter had returned late that night to retrieve the vehicle. F. Sarr confirmed his accomplice's version. However, he claimed that the motorcycle had been given to him by a certain SM, currently on the run.
As for Mr. Diagne, arrested in possession of one of the four seized motorcycles, he partially admitted the facts. According to his statements, the motorcycle was entrusted to him by a man named L. Camara who managed to elude the police during the operation.
Investigators noted that the police station has recently received several complaints related to motorcycle thefts in the area. The criminals use a recurring modus operandi: they break into homes without enclosures at night to carry out their operations.
