In the same vein, the Kédougou research section arrested an individual for migrant smuggling and human trafficking, and questioned five minors for investigative purposes.
These men, who entered Senegal from Mali, aimed to work at gold mining sites for pay. According to their consistent statements, they were from the same family, whose parents had organized their journey from Burkina Faso in conjunction with the accused man who was responsible for picking them up at the Senegalese-Malian border.
When questioned by investigators, the suspect admitted to the charges against him. The investigation is ongoing.
