Kédougou : Le GARSI mène un exercice de simulation antiterroriste
In a context marked by the persistence of terrorist threats in the sub-region, the elite units of the GARSI (Rapid Action Surveillance and Intervention Group) of the national gendarmerie conducted full-scale terrorist attack simulation exercises at Kédougou Bioparc, as part of strengthening the security of border areas.
The operation aimed to test the operational capabilities of the security forces in a real-world situation. It allowed for the evaluation of the speed of intervention, the coordination between the units involved, as well as the procedures for neutralizing the attackers and securing the premises.
According to those in charge of the exercise, this maneuver is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at improving the operational readiness of defense and security forces, strengthening crisis management, and ensuring increased protection of populations and strategic infrastructure.
The Kédougou Bioparc, which hosted the training, welcomed the successful completion of this large-scale operation, conducted in close collaboration with the GARSI teams and the site administration. Officials emphasized the importance of such initiatives in a regional context marked by growing security challenges.
Through this exercise, the authorities reaffirm their commitment to making security an essential pillar of development, stability and lasting peace.
