Kédougou : Les autorités lancent une vaste opération de désencombrement des voies publiques.
Following an awareness campaign and a formal notice addressed to illegal occupants, the administrative authorities of the Kédougou department proceeded this morning with the official launch of operations to clear public roads.
Conducted under the supervision of the relevant services, this operation aims to clear sidewalks and roads overrun with makeshift installations, in order to facilitate traffic and improve the living conditions of residents.

According to local authorities, this initiative is part of a broader effort to improve public health and urban safety. The operations are proceeding peacefully, without clashes or resistance from the occupants.
"We support such an initiative, provided it lasts," says a displaced person encountered on site, recognizing the relevance of the action undertaken.

Others, however, are more reserved.
"This measure is not bad, but the authorities should provide a reception site for us to resettle," suggests another resident affected by the eviction.
The authorities have assured that the awareness-raising phase will continue in parallel with the operations in order to support the affected populations and prevent any recurrence.

This operation marks a new stage in the urban management policy of the Kédougou department, determined to restore order and fluidity on the main arteries of the city.
