Keur Mbaye Fall : La jeunesse monte au créneau pour protéger le terrain Jumenga
Tensions are rising in Keur Mbaye Fall. The neighborhood's youth, supported by those from Toll Diaz, have decided to stand up against any attempt to take over the Jumenga land, which they consider a collective heritage and a vital space for community and sporting activities. These young people organized a massive mobilization to reaffirm their attachment to this site and their determination to protect it.
"We will not stand by while they try to deprive us of what belongs to the community," said a representative of ASC Jumenga, to applause from the protesters.
Organizers announced the establishment of a permanent citizen monitoring committee on the site to prevent any attempts to privatize or divert the site's use. Meanwhile, the youth are planning peaceful mobilizations, including rallies, demonstrations, and petitions, until the site is permanently secured.
"Any attempt at land grabbing will be fought by all legal and civic means at our disposal," warn the young people of Keur Mbaye Fall and Toll Diaz, who are calling on local authorities to take responsibility for preserving social peace.
