KOLDA : Sept tonnes de produits alimentaires prohibés incinérées par les autorités
Authorities in Kolda, under the direction of the public prosecutor, incinerated 7.4 tons of food products unfit for consumption. The incineration ceremony took place this Tuesday outside the municipality of Kolda.
Among the products incinerated, 89 cartons of pharmaceutical products were reduced to ashes. Other products unfit for consumption included cartons of expired milk, sugary drinks, rice, and canned goods, among other things.
The financial value of these burnt products is estimated at more than six million FCFA, according to the head of the regional hygiene department.
It should be noted that these products were removed from the commercial circuit by customs and members of the hygiene service of Kolda, who regularly carry out field raids for routine checks.
