Kolda: Un dealer de 72 ans dans les filets de la BRS avec 6,5 kg de chanvre
The Kolda Regional Narcotics Brigade, under the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), dealt a severe blow to drug trafficking in the region by arresting three individuals in possession of 6.5 kilograms of cannabis. The suspects, all professional growers, are S. Kandé, 72 years old, residing in Dialambéré; T. Baldé, 40 years old, residing in Sinthian Hamady; and S. Baldé, 36 years old, also residing in Dialambéré.
The operation was triggered following the exploitation of operational intelligence indicating the existence of an Indian hemp trafficking network active in the village of Dialambéré, located a few kilometers from Thieyti.
To infiltrate this network, the investigators placed an order for 6 kilograms of Indian hemp with Kandé, for the sum of 360,000 FCFA. The trap was set.
Members of the Kolda BRS (Brigade de Répression du Sécurité - Security Brigade) were discreetly deployed around the meeting place arranged by the drug dealer. At the precise moment of the transaction, Kandé was arrested along with his accomplice, S. Baldé. According to Seneweb sources, the two men had no chance of escaping the police operation in place.
The search of Kandé's room proved fruitful. Investigators found scales, a pair of scissors, and paper used for drug packaging. Confronted with the evidence, Kandé readily admitted to owning the drugs and all the packaging materials found at the scene.
Meanwhile, T. Baldé was arrested in possession of 500 grams of Indian hemp, thus completing the network dismantled by law enforcement.
The three suspects were taken into custody for conspiracy, possession and trafficking of Indian hemp.
