La BNDE inaugure son nouveau siège régional à Kaolack
The Director General of the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE), Mamadou Faye, inaugurated the bank's new headquarters in Kaolack. On this occasion, he emphasized that this new branch is much more than just a building; it is the tangible expression of a bank that is evolving, modernizing, and investing sustainably in the quality of its customer service, its accessibility, its innovation, and its excellence. The institution aimed to provide the people of Kaolack with a modern, spacious, functional, and welcoming environment, designed to place customers at the heart of all its concerns. This inauguration also carries significant symbolic weight, embodying the new face of a profoundly transformed BNDE, which has regained its stability, strengthened its core principles, and now looks to the future with confidence and ambition.
According to him, the institution went through a particularly difficult period between 2022 and 2024. Thanks to the unwavering support of the Senegalese government and the remarkable commitment of the bank's staff, a major transformation project was launched. The teams strengthened governance, modernized the organization, internal control and risk management systems, accelerated the digitalization of services, placed commercial performance at the heart of operations, and, above all, restored customer confidence. The CEO revealed that of the 29 banks in Senegal, BNDE is the second best-capitalized, with 52 billion CFA francs, 95% of which is held by the Senegalese government.
The results recorded in 2025 eloquently and pertinently demonstrate the soundness of the choices that were made. The total balance sheet now stands at 855 billion CFA francs, representing a 22% increase in just one year and more than 300 billion CFA francs in two years. Mamadou Faye concluded by noting that net banking income (NBI) increased by 14%, while net income reached 5.6 billion CFA francs, the best result ever recorded for commercial activity since the creation of the BNDE.
Presiding over the event, the deputy governor in charge of development, Mamadou Abib Camara, stressed that the opening of this agency constitutes a strong signal of confidence in the economic potential of this region of the Sine-Saloum basin, an area recognized for its commercial, agricultural and industrial dimension.
