La BR de Dakar traque M. Fall: Le coup fumant de l'escroc aux sept voitures de luxe
A case of fraud and breach of trust is currently shaking the car rental industry in Dakar. A man named Mr. Fall is actively being sought by the Dakar Research Brigade (BR) for allegedly misappropriating seven vehicles belonging to a private fleet, causing damages estimated at tens of millions of CFA francs.
A carefully orchestrated trust-building process
It all began when Mr. Fall contacted MS Diallo, manager of a private car fleet based in the capital. Presenting himself as the organizer of a major event to be held in Dakar, he requested the use of several vehicles. These were officially intended for welcoming and transporting his VIP guests. Convinced by this professional presentation and the apparent financial standing of his contact, the owner agreed and provided him with seven vehicles.
Once he had the vehicles in his possession, Mr. Fall failed to honor any of his commitments. According to the initial findings of the investigation, he pawned five of the seven vehicles to third parties, thereby obtaining illicit financing estimated at 12 million FCFA. The two remaining vehicles were then fraudulently sold for approximately 8 million FCFA. Having committed his crime, the swindler vanished, leaving the owner without any news and deprived of his livelihood.
The Research Brigade is on his trail
Given the scale of the damage, Mr. Diallo contacted the Dakar Research Brigade, which immediately opened an investigation. The investigations have so far led to the location and recovery of six of the seven stolen vehicles. The seventh remains missing. The search continues actively to locate and apprehend Mr. Fall, who is now the subject of a wanted notice.
