Lac Rose : Un baron de la drogue arrêté avec 10 kg de chanvre indien par la BR de Keur Massar
The Keur Massar gendarmerie company's research brigade has made a major seizure in the fight against drug trafficking. A.M. Faye, 46, a notorious drug dealer residing in Lac Rose, was arrested in possession of 10 kilograms of Indian hemp.
The operation is the result of quality intelligence reporting a major Indian hemp trafficking network operating in the Niague - Lac Rose - Keur Marième Mbengue triangle and led by a man named AM Faye.
Based on this information, the gendarmes deployed surveillance, monitoring, and surveillance teams around the suspected trafficker's home to observe his every move. On Thursday, October 9, 2025, at around 12 p.m., AM Faye was arrested in the act while making a delivery. The gendarmes caught him in possession of a package containing 500g of Indian hemp.
Following his arrest, a search was conducted at his home. The results exceeded investigators' expectations, with 9.5 kg of Indian hemp discovered hidden in various locations throughout the house. The police also seized 23,000 CFA francs in 2,000, 1,000, and 500 CFA franc notes from the suspect, likely representing the proceeds of his illicit sales, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecution.
In total, 10 kg of drugs were removed from the circuit, dealing a severe blow to drug trafficking in the area.
At the end of the investigation, AM Faye was brought before the prosecutor on Monday, October 13.
