Le Collectif des Familles des Martyrs dément toute rencontre avec le ministère de la Famille
The Collective of Families of Martyrs reacted this Thursday, August 28, 2025, following the dissemination of a press release attributed to the Ministry of Family and Solidarity on August 24, 2025. According to this text, a meeting took place on August 21 between Minister Maimouna Dièye and people presented as representatives of the Collective of Deceased Victims.
In a statement released to the press, the collective categorically denied having been represented at this meeting. "None of our duly mandated members took part in this meeting," insisted national coordinator Aminata Ndiaye Fall, who reiterated that any initiative carried out outside the Collective's bodies cannot be binding on it.
Created following the events of March 2021, the Collective brings together all the families of victims who died between March 2021 and February 2024. It operates with a national coordination and departmental representatives, responsible for defending the rights of bereaved families.
The Collective expresses concern about any attempt to weaken its unity. "Any undertaking that might serve partisan interests will be seen as a political maneuver and will meet with resolute opposition," it warns.
