Le LD Debout critique le Plan de redressement économique et s’oppose à…
In a statement sent to Seneweb today, the Democratic League (LD) Debout criticized the Economic and Social Recovery Plan presented by the Prime Minister. It points to an excessive focus on tax pressure and a technocratic approach that is not very inclusive.
"After analyzing the presentation of the Plan, the SEN considers that the Government has chosen to place greater focus on increasing the tax burden than on adjusting the State's standard of living. It questions the fact that "political funds" are not mentioned in a plan that demands sacrifices from the people, and considering the commitments of candidate Diomaye Faye to "suppress so-called "political" funds and replace them with special funds voted by the Assembly for ultra-sensitive operations," the National Executive Secretariat (SEN) said.
Thus, "regarding the form, the LD Debout considers that the messianic-technocratic approach adopted by the Prime Minister does not contribute in any way to the Senegalese people's appropriation of this plan, and even carries the seeds of its future failure." "The lack of inclusion of the various vital forces of the Nation and of presentation to the national representation undoubtedly raises questions about the 'legitimacy' of the plan," she says.
"In any case, the LD Debout opposes any recovery plan that does not prioritize the rationalization of spending at the level of institutions and the public and parapublic sectors, and firm management of the debt crisis that includes a challenge to loans and other commitments made on illegal bases by the former regime," the members point out.
The political movement calls on the active forces to be vigilant to avoid a simple recycling of IMF recipes. "The LD Debout calls on the active forces of the Nation to be vigilant so that this plan, presented as innovative and endogenous, is not just a rehash of the liberal recipes of the IMF which have not succeeded in lifting our countries from underdevelopment," specifies the SEN.
