Magal de Touba : 3 individus arrêtés en possession de drogue par la police de Ndamatou
A security operation carried out by the Ndamatou district police station led to the arrest of three pilgrims who had come to celebrate the Grand Magal, caught red-handed in possession of narcotics.
The facts
Yesterday, Tuesday around 4 p.m., during a routine mission to secure the Grand Magal, the police forces of the Ndamatou district police station dealt a decisive blow to the underworld.
Three young men, who came to Magal, were arrested in the act of possessing narcotics.
The three individuals arrested have varied profiles:
K. Lô, a 20-year-old motorcyclist from Sokone, had traveled to the holy city to participate in the Magal celebrations. This young man, like so many others, had come to seek the spiritual blessings of this sacred event.
Mr. Diallo, aged just 16 and a painter, and I. Mané, a 26-year-old mason, both live in Niacourab. These two residents of the same locality had also traveled to Touba in a spirit of religious devotion.
According to Seneweb sources, the quantity of narcotics discovered in their possession was significant for pilgrims: 1.5 kilograms of Indian hemp, 12 cones of the same substance, as well as a quantity of skunk, a particularly potent variety of cannabis.
The three suspects were immediately taken into custody for drug possession and trafficking. Their return to their respective homes after the religious celebrations is now in jeopardy, replaced by legal proceedings that could have serious consequences.
This arrest is part of the ongoing efforts of the security forces to preserve the serenity and sacredness of the Grand Magal, a major spiritual event.
