Matam : L’État alloue 291 613 552 FCFA à 2 161 ménages vulnérables
Senegal, like many Sahelian countries, is facing a resurgence of climate, economic, and food-related shocks. According to analyses by the March 2025 Harmonized Framework, more than 90,000 households are already in a food crisis phase. Without concrete action from the State, the food situation of affected populations could deteriorate. Faced with this worrying situation, the Government of Senegal, through the Ministry of National Solidarity, has decided to provide a proactive, targeted, and equitable response to the departments most affected by this crisis.
As the project manager of this response led by the National Solidarity Fund (FSN), which aims to provide direct monetary support to vulnerable households, identified from the Single National Register, the Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity chaired, this Tuesday, the official ceremony to launch the monetary transfers of the Food Insecurity Response Project (PSA), implemented by the National Solidarity Fund with the support of the World Bank, through the Adaptive Social Protection Support Project.
Speaking during the meeting dedicated to the event which was held at the regional cultural center of Matam, in the presence of administrative and territorial authorities, partners and stakeholders, Maimouna Dièye noted the importance of the ceremony which symbolizes the active solidarity of the Government towards vulnerable households.
The launch of the PSA 2025, she emphasizes, "reaffirms, once again, the political will of the President of the Republic led by the Prime Minister to leave no household in distress, no locality in oblivion and no Senegalese on the margins of progress."
For this year 2025, the project targets 10,922 households in the departments of Podor, Matam, Kanel, Bakel, Goudiry and Salémata. In Matam, a total amount of 291,613,552 FCFA will be allocated to 2,160 households. Each household will benefit from a transfer of 135,000 FCFA, covering three months of food consumption.
The Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity, Maïmouna Dièye, stated that "beyond the immediate response, this initiative is part of a national adaptive social protection strategy, combining prevention and resilience. And that "this support will enable families to cope with the crisis without adopting negative coping strategies."
During the launching ceremony, the authority in charge of the family of social action and solidarity, renewed its thanks to the World Bank partners, whose constant support through PAPSA, has strengthened the capacities to anticipate and act in the face of shocks. In the same spirit, it expressed its deep gratitude to the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene, and to the coordinator of the National Malaria Control Program, Professor Aliou Thiongane, for his collaboration and commitment to the organization of the Mixed Caravan against Malaria and Breast and Cervical Cancers.
She also took this opportunity to express her gratitude to the International Charity Organization (ICO) for its generous gesture in support of the populations affected by the recent floods. She then congratulated the Director General of the National Solidarity Fund and his entire team for their dedication and constant commitment to serving vulnerable populations. In her message of gratitude, she thanked the administrative authorities, including the Governor, the Prefect and the Sub-Prefects, the defense and security forces, local elected officials, all decentralized state services, supervisors, and community relays, for their significant determination.

De surcroît, on ne sait toujours pas où sont passés les 37 milliards de l’ASER., les 5 milliards distribués aux militants du Pastef sans l’aval de l’assemblée nationale, et n’oublions pas que l’actuel maire de Dakar, Abasse Fall a été cité dans une affaire de 5 milliards.
