Mbour : Le préfet confine les kankourang dans leur zone de polarisation, l’occupation de la route nationale interdite
The prefect of Mbour has issued a decree setting out the conditions for organizing the Kkankourang, a traditional circumcision ceremony, in the commune of Mbour.
According to the document, authorized structures will be able to organize the event every Sunday, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., as well as every night of the week, except Thursday, for the period from September 1 to 30, 2025.
Authorized structures and polarization zones
Mandingo Community - Leaders: Mamadou Aldara Diop, Boubacar Diambang, Cheikhou Koté (Santessou, Thiocé East, Thiocé West, Diamaguène, Sadiocounda, Woyinkacounda, Kouyamba).
Dioudou Cissé Kounda - Managers: Cheikh Ibrahima Cissé, El Hadj Kaoussou Cissé, Ansou Sonko (Oncad).
Mbour Dingol Association - Managers: Abdoulaye Diop, Mamadou Lamine Camara, Mor Diop (Spain, Gouye Mouride).
Doumassou Cell - Managers: Samba Diao, Aliou Diao, Ibrahima Diao (Sonatel Zones, Poulailler).
The text specifies that those responsible must ensure that order and peace are maintained throughout the event and that the routes of the kankourang must be communicated to the police 72 hours in advance.
Also, each structure must remain in its polarization zone, avoiding any occupation of the national road.
Any failure to comply exposes the organizing structure to immediate suspension of authorization and legal proceedings.
Finally, the decree entrusts the central commissioner of Mbour with the mission of ensuring the strict application of these provisions.

Le kankourang que je vois à mbour est vraiment different du kankourand de la casamance
Je pense à Mbour c'est plustot du business que de la culture
Je crois que depuis longtemps le kankourang existe a mbour le préfet doit prendre toutes les mesures et surtout assurer la sécurité il est là pour ça mais interdire non ça a toujours existé mbour ou Casamance mais combien de personnes qui quitte l'Europe en Afrique rien que pour le kankourang je ne suis pas mandingue mais je reçois plus de 15 personnes durant tout le mois c'est un plaisir de thiossane et bon vent a tout le monde
