Mbour : un enseignant blesse un policier avec un tournevis
On August 8, Banama D., a general supervisor at the CEM in Somone, deliberately rammed the car of Simon Michel N., his tenant's partner, twice, parked in his parking space. Alerted, police officer Baidy D. intervened to restrain him, but he refused to comply and attacked him with a screwdriver, causing injuries to his head and wrist.
The medical certificate issued to the victim stated that he was temporarily incapacitated for work (ITT) for 10 days, reports L'Observateur in its edition of Wednesday, August 27.
Before the Mbour court, the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group continues, the teacher initially denied the facts before confessing everything. In his defense, he maintained that the police officer's injuries came from pieces of zinc when they fell together, and not from his screwdriver. He also explained that he had torn the officer's clothes because the latter was in civilian clothes and refused to give his name.
Found guilty of violence and willful damage, Banama D. was sentenced to a six-month suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay 300,000 CFA francs in damages to Simon Michel N. The court described his behavior as "irresponsible."
