Mbour : un Français condamné pour violences sur sa compagne sénégalaise
The Mbour court sentenced D. Tournadour, a 66-year-old Frenchman, to six months in prison for assaulting his ex-partner, Kh. Ndiaye, 32, following an argument.
L'Observateur, which attended the hearing, reports that the couple settled their accounts in court after six months of cohabitation. It all started with suspicions of fraudulent withdrawals from the Frenchman's account via the Wave app, which he blames on the Senegalese woman. On February 14, a violent argument broke out, and the young woman left the home with her children.
Joined at Saly Carrefour by her partner, the altercation escalated. Kh. Ndiaye, who was pregnant, claimed to have been beaten and robbed of her jewelry and passport. The complainant presented a medical certificate attesting to ten days of temporary incapacity for work (ITT).
Replied by the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group, the sixty-year-old denied any violence but maintained his accusations of theft. The prosecutor, quoted by the same source, however, deemed the beatings constant and requested a six-month prison sentence.
The court followed the indictment and sentenced the Frenchman to six months in prison and a fine of half a million CFA francs.
