Médina : un corps repêché à la plage de Koussoum, une enquête ouverte
On Saturday, the Medina awoke in consternation after a macabre discovery. As they were preparing to set sail, fishermen spotted a body floating off the beach of Koussoum, not far from the headquarters of the House of the Press, reports L'Observateur.
Alerted around 11 a.m., the newspaper from the Groupe Futurs Médias reports, firefighters from the Malick Sy fire station quickly arrived at the scene. They recovered the body of a man wearing only underwear before transporting it to the Quai des Madeleines, behind the Supreme Court.
The victim has been identified as Ibrahima Ba, 43, a mechanic residing on 7th Street in the Medina. His brother, Ismaïla Ba, accompanied by a neighbor, formally confirmed his identity.
For now, the newspaper reports, the circumstances of the tragedy remain unclear. Was it an accidental drowning or a staged homicide? The investigation opened by the Medina police station will have to determine that.
