Microfinance, économie sociale et solidaire : Le budget 2026 adopté
The budget for the Ministry of Microfinance and the Social and Solidarity Economy was adopted this Saturday, December 6, 2025, by the National Assembly. Of the 165 registered members of parliament, 132 participated in the vote, including 20 by proxy. Among them, 128 voted in favor, none against, and 4 abstained.
The ministry's overall budget is set at 7,809,189,616 FCFA in commitment authorizations (CA) and 7,727,939,616 FCFA in payment appropriations (PA). It is structured around three major programs. The "Development of the Social and Solidarity Economy" program has an allocation of 2,445,817,090 FCFA in CA and 2,440,817,090 FCFA in PA. These resources cover personnel expenses, the acquisition of goods and services, current transfers, and investments made by the State, which amount to more than 1.2 billion FCFA.
The "Strengthening Microfinance" program constitutes the main pillar of the budget with an allocation of 4,454,816,351 FCFA in commitment appropriations (AE) and 4,384,816,351 FCFA in payment appropriations (CP). A significant portion is dedicated to current transfers, which exceed 2.7 billion FCFA, as well as to investments executed by the State, estimated at nearly 1.47 billion FCFA.
The third program, dedicated to "Steering, Coordination and Administrative Management", has a budget of 908,556,175 FCFA in commitment appropriations and 902,306,175 FCFA in payment appropriations. This budget is intended to improve the internal functioning of the ministry, strengthen institutional capacities and ensure better monitoring of public policies in microfinance and the social economy.
