Mort de Mouhamed Ndiaye : son ami envoyé en prison
Aged 22, Abdoulaye Diagne Mbodj has been charged and placed under arrest warrant for involuntary manslaughter in Ziguinchor, reports Libération in its edition of the day, relating the latest twist in the death of Mouhamed Ndiaye.
Brought before the Ziguinchor territorial brigade, Mbodj spent his first night in prison. Quoted by the newspaper, he had initially told the gendarmes that he and the victim, who was riding his motorcycle, had been attacked by three unidentified individuals, and that his friend had lost control of the vehicle after being struck with a stick.
The suspect finally confessed after being arrested following new developments in the investigation. He admitted to having fabricated the entire story because the motorcycle had no registration documents. His trial is scheduled for next Thursday before the court for flagrant offenses, the same source added.
