The Association for the Protection of Human Rights (APDH) has expressed deep outrage following the tragic death of Abdou Khadre Seck, a talibé aged approximately 8 in Ribo-Escale. The child was reportedly beaten, punished, and deprived of food by his Quranic teacher until he died.
In a press release, the APDH strongly condemned this act of violence, which it described as "despicable and a clear violation of the law and human dignity," recalling that the victim was a minor, vulnerable and defenseless.
Call for justice and reform of Daaras
The human rights organization calls for justice to be done without delay. "We demand that justice be done in this case and that the law be applied to the fullest extent possible," the statement reads.
Beyond the case itself, the APDH urges the State of Senegal to accelerate the long-proclaimed structural reforms, including the adoption of the Children's Code, the passage of the bill on the status of Daaras, and the strict application of Law No. 2005-06 of May 10, 2005, relating to the fight against human trafficking and prohibiting forced begging of children.
For the association, these measures are essential in order to put an end to the abuse and exploitation to which many talibés in the country are still victims.

Allez prier bande d hypocrites
