Niakhar : le maire Macodou Sène alerte sur le risque d’effondrement du château d’eau de Sanghai
Faced with the advanced state of disrepair of the water tower in the village of Sanghai, the mayor of Niakhar, Macodou Sène, has issued an urgent appeal to state authorities. He is demanding immediate intervention to rehabilitate this strategic infrastructure before a disaster occurs.
During a local forum addressing various development issues, the mayor emphasized the dilapidated state of the structure, which he now considers a real threat to public safety. "We are once again alerting the state to the need for the rehabilitation of the water tower, because we fear the infrastructure could collapse at any moment," he stated gravely.
The stakes are twofold: security and social. According to Macodou Sène, "the Sanghai water tower supplies several villages in the Niakhar commune. Its collapse could cause significant material and human damage, while depriving thousands of citizens of vital access to this precious resource."
For the mayor, the concept of security must be viewed holistically. He emphasized that protecting the population is not limited to the presence of the gendarmerie or police forces, but relies primarily on preserving essential resources and ensuring the reliability of basic infrastructure.
