Heavy rains this morning in the Nianing area caused the bridge connecting the village to the town of Gandol to collapse, isolating part of the population.

According to residents, traffic is now impossible on this structure, the main link between the two towns. This closure comes on the eve of the Assumption, celebrated on August 15, an important holiday for the strong Christian community in the area.

Weather forecasts predict further downpours in the coming hours, which could further complicate travel and celebrations. Residents are calling on local authorities and relevant services to intervene quickly to restore traffic and ensure safe passage.
