Nuit mouvementée à Bel Air : un cambriolage déjoué à Trans-Express
The Trans-Express company was the victim of an attempted burglary orchestrated by a well-organized gang. The rapid intervention of a patrol from the Bel-Air police station prevented the looting of the company's sugar stock. According to L'Observateur, which reported the incident, the incident took place last weekend at around 3:40 a.m.
A heavily armed gang managed to break into an isolated section of Trans-Express by demolishing a section of the freight depot's security wall. The criminals had positioned two vehicles (a Boxer and a Peugeot 407) and were loading their loot, which consisted mainly of sacks of sugar. They had already managed to load 18 sacks before being caught red-handed.
Indeed, reports the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group, their meticulously prepared plan was cut short thanks to the unexpected intervention of a police patrol. Bloodhounds from the Bel-Air police station, on routine patrol, came across the burglars in the act. A chase ensued in the dark: most of the criminals fled except for Moussa K., 35, who was quickly arrested.
The police deliberately left the Peugeot 407 behind, knowing that its driver had taken the keys. The ploy worked: the driver returned discreetly around 10:30 a.m. to retrieve his car. He was immediately surrounded and arrested by Trans-Express security officers.
The two suspects were referred to the prosecutor's office for aggravated robbery and criminal conspiracy. Meanwhile, investigators continue their search for the rest of the gang, who are still on the run. The 18 bags of sugar and the two vehicles have been placed under seal, reports L'Observateur.
