Parcelles-Assainies : Un policier attaqué par des chauffeurs de clando, son pantalon déchiré

A clandestine driver was arrested and taken into custody for resisting an officer in the exercise of his duties, following incidents which occurred on Sunday, September 21, 2025 in Parcelles-Assainies.

The incident began around 2 p.m. at the Dior market. Police officer MC, on duty at the traffic company in the Parcelles-Assainies sector, was on duty when a convoy of vehicles passed him heading towards the Acapes field. Noticing a traffic blockage a few moments later, the officer went to the scene on his motorcycle to investigate the situation. He then discovered a vehicle spinning on the roadway, a dangerous practice that involves making the vehicle spin around.

An intervention that goes wrong

In accordance with his prerogatives, the officer ordered the driver to stop, pull over, and present his documents. It was at this point that the situation escalated.

According to Seneweb sources, the other illegal drivers in the convoy intervened to prevent the documents from being handed over. They attacked the police officer, manhandling him to the point of tearing his pants. Facing several individuals alone, the officer preferred to retreat and change his uniform at his home in Unit 9 of Parcelles-Assainies.

A leak that turns into a nightmare

On his way back, the police officer encountered Babacar G., 28, a clandestine driver also living in Unit 9, whom he had identified among his attackers. Upon seeing the police officer, the suspect immediately fled. But his run attracted the attention of passersby who, mistaking him for a thief, began to lynch him. Ironically, it was the intervention of the same police officer he was fleeing that saved him from the mob's fury. The officer took Babacar to a house for his safety, before transporting him to the Parcelles-Assainies district police station, headed by Commissioner Abdou Sarr.

The suspect's confession

When questioned, the accused admitted to being part of the convoy of drivers involved in the incident. However, he maintains that it was his colleagues who opposed the police officer's orders, thus triggering the altercation.

Babacar claims to have only "held the officer's hand to calm him down," claiming he knew him personally. He denies having used violence against the officer, whom he describes as "agitated."

The suspect claims not to know the names of his accomplices, but claims to be able to identify them. He was taken into custody for resisting an officer in the performance of his duties.

The investigation continues in order to identify and arrest the other members of the convoy involved in this rebellion.
