Pèlerinage à La Mecque : les dessous de la distribution des billets de la Présidence, Pastef bien servi
As controversy grows over the tickets to Mecca granted by the Élysée Palace, Les Échos has made new revelations about the beneficiaries of these quotas. Contrary to popular belief, the presidential generosity was not limited to a single entity.
"In reality, it wasn't just the coalition led by Mimi Touré that benefited from the privileges of the President of the Republic," the newspaper reveals. According to leaks gathered from within the regime's establishment, Pastef was particularly well served: the ruling party reportedly received 30 tickets on its own.
The distribution also extended to "several religious households" in the country: some of them receiving up to 15 tickets, the news daily reports.
These revelations suggest that while the "Diomaye President" coalition has crystallized criticism through its media exposure, other structures have benefited from the same largesse in almost total discretion.
