Phosphates d’alumine : L’UCAD propulse Thiès au rang de pôle technologique
Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) has taken a significant step forward in the development of natural resources with its new patented process for Thiès alumina phosphates. This innovative technology makes it possible to simultaneously produce pure alumina, used in industry, and phosphate fertilizers, essential for agriculture. The initiative illustrates Senegal's ability to transform its local raw materials into high-value products.
The significance of this breakthrough extends beyond academic research, as it positions the country on a path toward industrial self-sufficiency. Local alumina production can reduce dependence on imports and stimulate the development of industrial sectors around Thiès and neighboring areas.
