Piégé par la police : un trafiquant de MDMA arrêté à Dakar
Elements of the Regional Brigade of the Central Office for the Suppression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) in Dakar, alerted to the presence of a foreign national in possession of drugs, set a trap for the suspect.
Libération reports that on the night of August 25-26, around 2:30 a.m., Domingo Armindo Biaba, a Bissau-Guinean national, was intercepted at the Liberté 5 roundabout as he was preparing to deliver five grams of MDMA, ordered by investigators for 50,000 CFA francs.
During the search, officers found an Android phone and his wallet on his person. Asked to cooperate, the suspect led investigators to his home in Dieuppeul. A search there resulted in the seizure of four other bags of MDMA identical to the one handed over during the transaction, an electronic scale used for packaging the drug, and 50,000 CFA francs in cash.
During his hearing, Domingo Armindo Biaba readily admitted to being the owner of the drugs. Replied by the newspaper, he named a certain Moses, also Bissau-Guinean and residing in Bissau, as his main supplier.
Biaba was taken into custody for criminal conspiracy, international drug trafficking, and money laundering. The investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest possible accomplices involved in this network.
