A 17-year-old electrician named Amath Ba is in serious trouble. He has been taken into custody for attempted rape of an 11-year-old girl.
The incident occurred on Friday, May 22, 2026, in Linguère. A girl named S. Ba, accompanied by her guardian, filed a complaint against the electrician. According to the complainant, the accused offered her a free ride while she was on her way to the Linguère prison, where she was to deliver a meal to an inmate.
Without hesitation, the young woman accepted the electrician's offer. After the ride, she met him again in front of the prison gates, ready to take her home, which she accepted. After a few minutes, the motorcyclist headed off into the bush. Realizing what the young man was up to, the woman screamed for help at the top of her lungs, trying to escape. Luckily for her, a guard who was nearby immediately called out to the perpetrator, who then tried to flee.
Arrested and taken to the station, he offered unconvincing denials, claiming he had taken a different route to collect money, the address and identity of which he could not provide. He was placed in police custody at the Linguère urban police station for attempted rape.
