Pikine-Guédiawaye : une étudiante condamnée, des affrontements éclatent devant le tribunal

The same source reports that this judicial decision caused significant tensions outside the court. Followers of the "Hizbou Tarkhiya" (Mouride) group clashed with the student's supporters, members of the "Akhlu Sunna" group, active on TikTok.
The latter, taken up by the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group, denounced on social networks an injustice, affirming that the accusation had only responded to verbal attacks and blasphemous remarks made by certain Internet users affiliated with the tarikhas.
The case, which was widely followed on TikTok due to the virulent tone of the exchanges between religious communities, required the intervention of law enforcement to prevent a wider conflagration, rewinds L'Observateur, which points out that it illustrates the rise of religious clashes on social networks and raises a crucial question about the limits of freedom of expression in the face of sacred symbols in Senegal.
