The Ministry of Youth and Sports has strongly condemned the use of sexist and degrading posters toward women, observed during a Navétane match in Pikine. In a statement released, the ministry denounced behavior that was "contrary to the fundamental values of sport based on respect, dignity, and equality between citizens." "Such an act constitutes a serious attack on ethics and morality, and harms the very image of our youth," the document emphasizes.

The Ministry also announced the implementation of preventive and disciplinary measures, in collaboration with the competent sports authorities, in order to avoid the repetition of such incidents in stadiums "where children and citizens in general go." The sports authority also calls on organizers and stakeholders in the sports movement to demonstrate responsibility, vigilance and strict compliance with the rules established to preserve discipline and ethics in competitions.

As a reminder, strong indignation took hold on social networks after the publication of a photo of a banner deemed humiliating and pornographic towards women, displayed during this match. The Collective of Feminists of Senegal, which shared the image on X, denounced an act "sexist and an attack on the dignity of women" and called on the sports and government authorities. Adama Sy
