Pikine : Un trafiquant de drogue mord un policier et blesse un autre lors de son arrestation
A dramatic arrest took place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, around 10:00 PM, at the truck garage in Dalifort Darou Salam. Officers from the Pikine police station's investigation unit apprehended AK, a 27-year-old mechanic residing in Dalifort, as part of an ongoing fight against drug trafficking, according to Seneweb sources. This arrest followed a tip-off that an individual was selling marijuana at the location.
The agents' stakeout was successful. Within minutes, they spotted the suspect attempting to flee by weaving between the parked trucks.
It was at this point that Officer ID attempted to subdue him. The suspect then bit him on the right middle finger. His colleague, GS, who came to the rescue to handcuff the fleeing man, was also injured on the middle and index fingers of his right hand, which struck a truck. A search of the suspect revealed thirteen packets of marijuana in his possession.
The two injured officers were taken to the Baye Talla Diop health center in Pikine, then referred to the Pikine departmental hospital for treatment.
When questioned, AK denied owning the marijuana, but admitted to biting Officer ID, claiming he mistook him for an aggressor. He was taken into custody for offering or supplying marijuana, assaulting and battery of public officials in the performance of their duties, and resisting arrest. Prosecutor Saliou Dicko, head of the Pikine-Guédiawaye prosecutor's office, was informed of the incident.
