Pitbull, querelles familiales, alcool et bagarre : la gendarmerie de Tivaouane-Peulh et le procureur de Rufisque en action en 72 heures chrono
The Tivaouane-Peulh local police force was very busy between February 26 and 28, 2026. In the space of three days, several individuals were taken into custody for offenses ranging from domestic violence to assault and battery, including a traffic accident while under the influence of alcohol, according to Seneweb sources.
Disability, family tensions and threats
It all began on February 26th around 5 p.m. with the detention of MDB, a 28-year-old Guinean national with no declared job. According to his mother, AB, the young man struggles with his disability. Having lost his left foot eight years ago following a gunshot wound sustained during election-related violence in Guinea, he had settled in Tivaouane-Peulh with his family. But, according to the complainant, his behavior had become concerning.
She accuses him of repeated violence, damaging doors, and making threats, particularly when he smokes marijuana. He also allegedly claimed responsibility for managing the family home's rent, presenting himself as "the man of the house." When questioned by police, MDB admitted to forcing locks to enter the house. He was taken into custody for making threats and using marijuana.
Neighborhood dispute: stone versus pit bull
The following day, February 27th at 5:00 PM, two men, MS, 30, a shopkeeper, and OD, 32, a driver, were also taken into custody for mutual assault and battery. The incident stemmed from a dispute between children. OD had reportedly taken a minor to his parents' house to report his perceived aggressive behavior. This initiative was poorly received by MS, the boy's older brother. The verbal exchange escalated.
Later, another confrontation erupted at OD's home. The situation escalated into a fight. According to reports, MS allegedly threw a rock, hitting OD in the head. In response, OD reportedly released his pit bull, which then bit MS and his brother.
Medical certificates issued at the Keur Massar health center indicate temporary incapacity for work (ITT) periods of 4, 5, and 8 days. Both individuals were taken into custody. The investigation also revealed that MS is known to the authorities for similar offenses and had a suspended sentence.
